Dr. Lee received her B.A. in English Literature from the University of Hong Kong and her Doctoral degree from Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).

Melanie has worked in marketing/branding for 30 years. She spent 10 years in P.R./advertising, and has worked for advertising agencies such as Ogilvy HK. She was Head of Marketing from 2001 - 2010 for HK's major telecommunication companies such as PCCW before she joined HKBU in 2011. Over the years, Melanie received numerous awards including Distinguished Marketer in HKMA Marketing Excellence Award and EFFIE Awards, NY. Melanie worked in New York and Rome in the 1990s.
