One Degree. Over a short distance or change in temperature, one degree may not seem like that big of deal, but add in time, distance, or other factors and it's huge. Imagine if NASA was one degree off when sending Purdue Alumni, Neil Armstrong, to the moon. Or think about the difference that 33F and 32F degrees can have on a wet road in the winter. One degree of difference really is a BIG deal. This interactive program, geared towards new fundraising professions will focus on the key concepts, strategies, and practical help that development officers can learn to assist them in securing major gifts.

Social media is key to any higher education communication strategy yet, research shows most institutions - particularly smaller colleges and universities - do not allocate a full-time position to it for a variety of reasons including budgetary. How can you do more with less? How can a small marketing and communications operation leverage campus resources to maximize social media presence? This presentation will show, based on recent examples from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College's social media initiatives, how to build a network of faculty/staff social media administrators and social media student ambassadors. It will also explain why these are useful in making your social media content more robust and in expanding your institution's social media footprint. Plus, the reasons why this network is critical for branding.
