Carrie White
Carrie White is the vice president of technology, information & philanthropic strategy at the University of Cincinnati Foundation, where she leads teams responsible for data management, gift processing, reporting and analytic services, prospect development, application support, IT infrastructure, and desktop and hardware support. During her tenure with the UC Foundation, she has led the transformation of the team from the 'back office' to a robust & sophisticated strategic partner.
As a departmental leader, White is dynamic and detail-oriented. She combines comprehensive experiences in advancement services, fundraising, strategic planning, analytics and data management to focus and guide her team. Her professional passion is tying together the pieces of a fundraising shop and leveraging data to make things run smoothly. She credits her start in her profession with a colleague who encouraged her to "figure it out" on a homegrown Paradox database. As an advancement services professional, she deeply values the "can-do spirit" of initiative and discernment in her everyday work--she challenges her staff to "think and try" and believes her success is rooted in those qualities.
A graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, White previously worked with the UC Health Foundation, the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, Jacobson Consulting Applications, the Cincinnati Museum Center, and the Birmingham Zoo.
Jason Boley
Jason Boley is a senior associate at Bentz Whaley Flessner, specializing in systems and operations. He works with a variety of fundraising institutions to assess and revise business processes, evaluate and implement technology systems, and use enterprise reporting platforms. He has led multiple CRM implementations, is a trained Salesforce administrator and develops on the Tableau and Microsoft Power BI platforms.
Prior to joining BWF, he served as assistant vice president of development operations for Riley's Children's Foundation. His management responsibilities included prospect research, information technology, gift processing, donor relations and leading Riley's successful database conversion. He also served as the director of prospect management at Purdue University. Additionally, he spent several years supporting systems and information needs for the development office at Wabash College during their successful capital campaign and has also worked as a private consultant.
Boley is a recognized leader in fundraising operations and data analysis. This is his 7th year serving as faculty for CASE SIAS. He has also served multiple times on the faculty of APRA International's Data Analytics Symposium and as the chair of APRA's Analytics Body of Knowledge initiative.
He earned a master's degree in library science from Indiana University and a bachelor's degree from Hanover College, majoring in history and theological studies. He participates in numerous professional organizations and has spoken frequently at local and national conferences, including CASE, AASP, APRA-IN and APRA International.
Kushal Dasgupta
Kushal Dasgupta is the senior executive director and chief technology officer for development and external affairs at Southern Methodist University.
Previously, he served as the associate vice chancellor of advancement services, responsible for strategic development, oversight and management of advancement operations for NC State University. He leads a team of 30+ FTE across four units: Prospect Development, Research and Strategy; Gifts and Records Management; Donor Services; and Information Services and Technology. NC State launched a $1.6B capital campaign in fall 2016. He served as a key member of the campaign team that developed campaign brand, prospect development policies, and procedures, gift agreements, campaign counting guidelines, naming policies and campaign reporting.
Before NC State, Dasgupta was the senior director of information services at Louisiana State University Foundation leading a team of business analysts, user support specialists and system administrators.
He has a bachelor's degree in engineering from India and a master's degree from the Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University.
Cindy Hancock
Cindy Hancock is the founder of Belden Avenue Partners, a consulting firm focused on donor relations and fundraising strategy. Prior to consulting, she worked in healthcare philanthropy for 14 years, leading donor relations at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital and Riley Children's Foundation. At both organizations, she had oversight of gift acknowledgement, stewardship and donor recognition programs, and was involved in proposal development, gift agreements and gift acceptance. She has particular expertise in database conversions, novel uses of databases to better serve donors and work more capably, campaign planning, and donor naming practices pertaining to major building projects.
Hancock has served as a board member for the Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP) and presented at conferences including the ADRP International Conference and Blackbaud's bbcon. She is a graduate of Northwestern University.
Amanda Jarman
“As the president of Fundraising Nerd, Amanda Jarman has helped dozens of nonprofit organizations make smart use of their donor data and data management systems. Her expertise has been honed during two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, largely in data management. Before launching Fundraising Nerd in 2013, Jarman served in various fundraising data-related positions at Portland State University, most recently as assistant vice president for advancement services. Before that she served as associate director of advancement services at Lewis & Clark College. She started her career at smaller nonprofits. This experience ignited her passion for scaling big shop tools and techniques to fit shops of all sizes.
Jarman is a frequent trainer and presenter on fundraising data. This is her second time serving as a faculty member for this conference, and she has been a five-time repeat faculty member for CASE's Gifts and Records Workshop. She also served as an instructor in Portland State University's Fundraising Certificate Program. She previously served on the Association of Advancement Services Professionals (AASP) strategic planning advisory council and its nominations committee, and was honored with the AASP's Emerging Leader Award in 2014”
Amy Bronson
Amy Bronson is associate vice president of advancement resources and strategic talent management at Boston University, where she is engaged in building and sustaining an outstanding team of advancement professionals who are undertaking an enormous challenge: the first comprehensive campaign in the history of the university.
She oversees the talent management program for a staff of 225 including 17 schools and colleges at the university. Encompassing talent acquisition, organizational and learning development, human resource management, finance and administration, she partners with colleagues across the university to ensure the advancement team is ready to meet the campaign challenge.
Prior to joining BU in September 2010, Bronson led the strategic staffing initiative for the "Light the World Campaign" at Boston College. Before joining BC in 2005, she was at Harvard Law School where her many roles included managing special events, curriculum planning and program administration for executive legal education, and as a fundraiser and administrator at Baker House Alumni Center. Her prior experience includes working for Tiffany & Co. in Chicago and Houston and teaching in Athens, Greece. With more than 20 years of advancement experience, she has served in leadership roles and presented at numerous conferences.
Alexis Kanda-Olmstead
Alexis serves as the director of advancement talent management at Dartmouth College where she helps people maximize their potential to achieve organizational priorities. Her responsibilities include shaping the overarching strategy for talent management, coaching leaders and supervisors, and designing training and professional development programs for 250 staff.
Alexis believes people should be engaged by their work and have the opportunity for continuous growth and development. During her more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Alexis has delivered educational experiences to hundreds of staff and students, led award-winning diversity and inclusion initiatives, and started two talent management departments. She is the founder of AKO Collective, a women's leadership development company that offers training to women and girls, and presents nationally on gender-related topics.
Alexis holds a bachelor's degree in organizational studies from the University of Michigan, a master's degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University, and a certificate in organization development from Colorado State University. She is a certified StrengthsQuest Educator, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Practitioner, and TEDx Speaker.
Stephen Rosfeld
Stephen Rosfeld is vice president for development at the University of Cincinnati Foundation. In this role, he leads major gift fundraising efforts of 11 main campus colleges and units, athletics and the central development team (national development, gift planning, and corporate/foundation relations) at the UC Foundation.
As a student at the University of Cincinnati, Rosfeld was an intern for the UC Foundation and ultimately joined the organization in 2006 as an alumni relations professional for the UC Alumni Association. He has assumed additional responsibilities over the years including, most recently, serving as the executive director of development for the Carl H. Lindner College of Business. A proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Rosfeld previously served in a variety of capacities for several local and national political campaigns. He is an active member of the Council for CASE and the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
