John R. Chandler Award

The Chandler Award recognizes a corporation or foundation for outstanding contributions to independent schools. Nominations of community foundations, local businesses and national or international corporations or foundations are encouraged.

The award is named in honor of John R. Chandler, former assistant headmaster at the Hotchkiss School, and one of CASE's first independent school trustees.

The nomination period is closed. 

A corporation or foundation that has made exceptional contributions to Independent Schools.

Nominations for 2021 will be accepted starting in June 2020.

Nomination instructions

Please enter through the online system. Include in the nomination package:

  • A nomination letter detailing how the nominee meets the award criteria. (Self-nominations and nominations by students will not be accepted.) Nominating letters should be no longer than two pages.
  • Two letters of support. Supporting letters should be no longer than two pages.

Guidance for letters:

  • Please reference the name of the award, and limit the letter to not more than two pages.
  • Documents can be in PDF or Word format.
  • Please do not mail any materials directly to CASE.
