Dr. José Antonio Lozano Díez to Receive 2025 CASE Latin America Leadership Award
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is pleased to announce that Dr. José Antonio Lozano Díez has been named the recipient of the 2025 CASE Latin America Leadership Award. This prestigious award recognizes presidents, executive directors, system directors, and board directors of CASE member institutions for their outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing education and institutional progress.
Dr. Lozano will be honored at Congreso 2025 in Lima, Peru, during the welcome reception on Tuesday, April 8.
Dr. Lozano has played a pivotal role in strengthening institutional advancement in Latin America. As General Rector and now as President of the UP-IPADE Governing Board, he has promoted a culture of philanthropy and engagement, bringing Universidad Panamericana into the CASE community and encouraging senior leadership to participate in CASE programs and initiatives.
Under his leadership, Universidad Panamericana launched an ambitious fundraising campaign to support the development of Ciudad Panamericana, a new campus in Mexico City spanning 40 hectares. The project includes state-of-the-art academic buildings, a library, athletic facilities, university residences, and a hospital. Already home to nearly 1,000 undergraduate students, Ciudad Panamericana reflects Dr. Lozano’s strategic vision and commitment to expanding educational opportunities in Latin America.
“Dr. Lozano’s vision and leadership have made a lasting mark—not only on Universidad Panamericana, but on the entire advancement landscape in Latin America,” said Salvador Beltrán del Río Madrid, Institutional Development Director at Universidad Panamericana. “His deep commitment to fostering a culture of philanthropy, professional development, and international collaboration has strengthened institutions across the region and exemplifies the spirit of this award.”
Dr. Lozano’s influence extends beyond Universidad Panamericana. He has shared the principles of institutional advancement with other universities and higher education associations, including the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES) and the Federation of Private Mexican Higher Education Institutions (FIMPES).
The CASE Latin America Leadership Award celebrates leaders who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to education and institutional advancement. Past recipients have included university presidents and chancellors whose visionary leadership has elevated their institutions and strengthened the global advancement community.
Dr. Lozano’s recognition underscores the growing importance of institutional advancement in Latin America and highlights the profound impact of leadership on education and society.
