How to Prepare for the Work Week
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the many demands of work and life. According to Calendar.com author Matt Rowe, you can use your weekend to make your work week go more smoothly and with less stress. Rowe recommends resetting and planning for the week ahead by taking these actions:
- Scheduling your week. Spend time on the weekend to clarify your goals and priorities for the week ahead. By having a sense of what you need to accomplish and when, you will feel more control over your time.
- Tidying up. A disorganized life can negatively impact your productivity. Spend time on the weekend tidying and organizing your space.
- Preparing meals. It saves time and money, and reduces decision making, to prepare your meals in advance. Take a weekend day to create a meal plan, shop for groceries, and prepare your food for the work week.
- Practice self-care. It’s easy to skimp on self-care during a busy week. Use your weekend to reconnect with friends and family, and also to engage in rest and recreation.
