The collection offers information on general trends, advancement, alumni and parent engagement, communications and marketing, and fundraising. This collection also includes a guide to all the CASE Library's sample collections that feature sections for independent schools samples. Bringing students and advancement professionals together to share student advancement best practices and network is the main goal of the 46th annual CASE ASAP Network Convention.

Here are two truisms: These are uncertain times. Fundraising is as important as ever.

During the October 2013 meeting of the CASE Commissions, all three commissions participated in a joint discussion on the topic of integrating the advancement disciplines. Given the interest in the discussion and questions we've received, the CASE Library has prepared a collection of resources on this topic.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, advancement professionals around the globe have had to rethink how to foster and maintain relationships. Here, Jean van Sinderen-Law of University College Cork in Ireland explores how to nurture relationships online and overcome the challenges of leading and working during a crisis.

Relative to other alumni relations topics, few resources specifically address engagement and programming for graduate school alumni. The CASE Library has compiled this resource collection to assist members researching this topic.

Although more than two decades have passed since Claire Matern attended Zurich International School, she can still remember the warm embrace she felt as a newly transplanted second-grader from Brooklyn, New York.

"I got sung the song and I sang the song [to others]," Matern says of the welcome anthem serenaded to all newbies during school assemblies. "It was a nice indication that you're one of us. And when you left, everyone sang ‘Happy Trails,' which was so touching."

That Matern still recalls those details despite attending ZIS for just three years is an outcome any international school would welcome, too.

International schools typically follow a national or international curriculum different from the host country. They educate a highly transient, multinational, and multilingual student population for global citizenship. Since 2000, the K-12 international school market has tripled, as more wealthy local families seek the Westernized education and career opportunities that come from it for their children.

The Advancement Resource Catalog is the Library's database of 15,000+ item records (including articles, books, and white papers) available online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

Nearly 125 colleges in the U.S. exhibit four or more of the risk factors, putting them in danger of closing. And there are several challenges on the horizon that put more private colleges at greater risk than ever before. Advancement professionals at these institutions are in the best position to drive the actions that could save these institutions.
