It’s a perennial question for advancement teams: what are the latest activities (that actually work) to engage this generation of young alumni? In the CASE Communities online discussion boards, alumni relations professionals shared these ideas. 

At CASE’s “The Future of Advancement” panel discussions held throughout 2024, we invited members around the globe to share ideas about the profession. We consistently heard that institutions must sharpen their focus by listening more to their communities—understanding their doubts, addressing gaps in understanding, and clearly articulating our purpose.

Founding Editor Virginia Carter Smith set the foundation for Currents—a magazine chronicling trends in advancement that helps professionals work more effectively—that stands today.

The CASE Library maintains this collection of young alumni samples. It includes samples from awards programs, advisory boards and councils, young alumni giving initiatives, and events and alumni programming. Materials from the CASE Circle of Excellence Awards are included as available.

The CASE Library has created this collection to help members develop programming to teach students about the importance of private support for their institutions and encourage student giving.
