This series of photos elicited a lot of debate amongst the judges as to what consisted photography. Everyone agreed that the pictures were near-perfect, but some judges questioned whether shots taken from an electron microscope had the same photographers input as a DSRL cameras. But when we saw how they were used in the magazine, everyone agreed that the unusual composition and the beauty of the shots were incredibly effective and a way of thinking of a subject outside the norm.
