UGA has a decentralized and centralized development structure that includes 17 schools and colleges and various departments and units. Many of the stewardship professionals are isolated within their unit with little or no opportunity for training and development specific to our field. As a result, we developed Team Stewardship, a community for staff who perform stewardship as part of their job responsibilities. Team Stewardship meets quarterly to discuss best practices, share ideas, and learn from each other. This was the best solution to the challenges we face as a central Donor Relations office with limited staff trying to offer targeted support to our colleagues and elevate stewardship campus wide.
