About the entry
In the summer of 2017, Biola University launched a university-wide rebranding campaign, featuring a new website, anthem video, advertisements, banners, displays and numerous print pieces. The most significant component of this rebranding effort was a vibrant, energetic 34-page undergraduate viewbook aimed at recruiting new students to Biola—a leading Christian university located near Los Angeles, California.

- The commitment to the striking, beautiful design was clearly demonstrated throughout the piece; very consistent!
- Lots of substance
- Lots of depth in the content/layout
- Love the typography and colors
- Multilayered, with a lot of information, without being too busy or overwhelming
- The portrait photography of students is amazing
- Clearly demonstrated lots of research
- Love the typography with text going outside the boundaries, going outside of the box
- Nice use of polka dots element throughout – especially the blind embossing on the cover
- Nice use of small, simple icons throughout
- The cover was risky and artsy; not everyone on the judging panel liked it, but it is interesting and brave.
