Dawgs Suit Up!
About the entry
Dawgs Suit Up! was initially developed by the UGA Career Center. In partnership with JC Penney, the center was able to provide discounted professional clothes for students to purchase prior to the fall career fair. In an effort to better serve students, the center wanted to provide scholarships for students who needed it most. With the university's development team, it created a crowdfunding page. Within a few short weeks, the Dawgs Suit Up Scholarship Fund raised over $40,000. With 32 gifts from $25 to $5,000, a match given by a trustee who felt particularly moved by the cause, and a trustee-approved grant from the president's discretionary fund, Dawgs Suit Up! was able to provide 310 scholarships.
