The booklet - Essex: A World-Class Centre of Excellence in Analytics and Data Science—successfully showcases the diverse range of data science and data analytics expertise at the University of Essex and how researchers are challenging conventional approaches and using data to solve the big problems we face in all aspects of our lives.

The committee appreciated Essex's use of emotion-provoking visuals with vivid colors to express concepts and data science. There was a sense that the editors had a strong vision of what they wanted to share and a plan to execute that vision in an understandable way.
The contemporary design blended white space, photos, and facts to ensure it reached all of their audiences. Essex also featured strong writing and content throughout.
The committee noted the Mandarin-translated version of this entry as an impressive additional step to meet the need of one of their constituencies. They also noted the challenges of translating any publication and that it was an ambitious addition.
The committee commented it was the best {/on-mission" example from this year's candidate pool, and it did an excellent job translating analytics into a human connection.
The committee also noted that even readers who were not data savvy scientists would find the issue digestible and enjoyable.
