About the entry
Occom is named for Samson Occom, a beloved Dartmouth figure who, in 1766, raised the funds to support what would become the college. The newsletter publishes three to four times a year and serves as Dartmouth's flagship stewardship piece to showcase the philanthropy of its top donors—typically, alumni and friends who make gifts to the college of $5 million or more. Along with featured donors, its audience includes families and individuals with capacity to make six- to nine-figure gifts.
From the Judges' Report
