Who Have We Empowered?
About the entry
"Who Have We Empowered?" is a website, an exhibit and a novel approach to storytelling that applies principles of data visualization to the standard campaign honor roll of donors. It communicates the breadth and reach of Northeastern's Empower fundraising campaign and, since it was designed by students, does so in a way that is true to Northeastern's identity as a pioneer in experiential education.
From the Judges' Report
Northeastern University was a great example of being imaginative and innovative in its effort. Uniquely so, it displayed a good utilization of students, and collaboration that fostered talent and knowledge sharing through a somewhat novel approach to messaging. An excellent combination of both macro and micro storytelling that is useful to internal and external stakeholders. The digital displays and honor rolls showed great purpose toward donor recognition. The panel felt that this submission was not an effort that is typically taken on, because the challenge is often so complex, but this example provided a model for those institutions looking to approach communications in a highly impactful way. The submission indicated there was a strong sense of collaboration of engaging stakeholders across campus. The work done in this effort provided sustainable and informative material for continued outreach and felt very comprehensive in that it was a campus-wide effort.
