The Case Study Challenge
From the Nominator
The Case Study Challenge is a semester-long, interdisciplinary project that partners the California State University Channel Islands university advancement team with students enrolled in a nonprofit management class. Each semester, students are given a “menu” of 20 field-based activities to choose from. Each activity is worth a different point total, based on its perceived difficulty, and students must attempt 100 points in total by semester’s end.
From the Judges
Judges felt that this project exemplified the true definition of an interdisciplinary project within the institution as well as with the community. We liked the concept and felt it was a creative way to engage current students in real-world experiences to deepen their learning. It was a great partnership project between the foundation and the professor who ran the course.
