“Chapter Three” for Ohio Today radio
From the Nominator
In the late 1990s, 38 women with a connection to Ohio University in the late 1960s and early 1970s—some who were students, some who were employees—were interviewed by Frank Robinson. He asked them a series of questions about what it was like for them and for women at Ohio’s Athens campus during that tumultuous time of radical change happening at campuses everywhere. Robinson was gathering stories for "An Oral History of Women Faculty and Administrators at Ohio University, 1970-1980," the doctoral dissertation he wrote for his Ph.D. in education.
From the Judges
This award is for a specific podcast episode that has very strong content. The team at Ohio University told an engaging story based on audio recordings from decades old academic research. The producers were able to reconnect with the women featured in the research years later. The connection and integration with a print publication—Ohio Women magazine—also is noteworthy.
