The Gift Opportunity Catalogue is the system of record for the list of campaign gift opportunities and how they are described, their funding levels and the total goal for each opportunity. Every other system (Advance, the Campaign Web Site, Proposal, SOUS, Gift Allocations, etc.) reference the Gift Opportunity Catalogue. The Gift Opportunity Catalogue is a standalone database that was developed in house using an application that Dartmouth used for other purposes (Oracle’s APEX).
From the Judges
The judges were impressed by Dartmouth’s ability to see a problem and fix it. While this submission was less flashy and more process-based than others, judges from various roles within fundraising recognized the need for this type of system. The Gift Opportunity Catalogue brings together the financial, stewardship, and front-line fundraising shops of advancement in order to facilitate more collaboration and better communication between these teams. The judges commend this effort by Dartmouth and feel that it is creative, functional, and replicable for institutions of all sizes and structures.
