Getting Lost in Color
From the Nominator
The objective of our color-themed issue was to update/enhance the proud sense of Swarthmore as a "Staunch and Gray" place (from the Alma Mater). So many of our community are engaged in some way with the study and application of color, as artists, scientists, activists, entrepreneurs, and more, and we felt this information would be rewarding to the audience.
From the Judges
Wow–exceptionally creative, fun, playful, and interesting. Well executed, thoughtful, and well planned out from the cover to the interior spread to the playful back cover coloring book page. Great use of white space and column widths. Well chosen typography and imagery–could have easily been an eyesore and overwhelming visually and content-wise, but story was well paced and well-designed, drawing the reader in, which is exactly the point of good design.
