IMPACT magazine is the flagship publication of the Elgin Community College Foundation. The magazine serves as the ECCF’s primary donor stewardship piece to regularly communicate with all donors in an effort to share stories about how philanthropy impacts students, college programs, the campus, the community, and donors themselves. Each issue of the publication is developed around a theme and is inspired by sources such as a college milestone, strategic program, or philanthropic focus.
From the Judges
For a community college publication that was executed completely in house (with the exception of printing), this was a standout entry. Although the audience is focused on donors and benefactors, there was a refreshing blend of content which included program-focused stories, donor impact spotlights, and student and board profiles. The use of social media and the college website feed to mirror the magazine content and make it accessible to non-donors was also noteworthy.
