Inspired by on-site architectural details, the invitation mimics the complex patterns, colors, and textures found on the building’s walls and inside its performance spaces. The invitation’s cover riffs off the signature brick installation found at the center’s entrance. The inspiration to use a holographic foil came from the mirrors installed in the dance spaces, theater stage lighting, and a desire to pay homage to costume designers who make performances colorful. The invitation is duplexed and printed on letterpress, giving it a substantial, tactile feel.

Our judging panel agreed this invitation was stunning, elegant, and innovative. We all loved how the design was inspired by architecture for the new building. Strong typography and goes so well with the print elements. Great paper choice: nice, heavy duplex to handle all of that amazing emboss, deboss, foil stamping, and printing.
