UC San Diego School of Medicine 50th Anniversary Campaign
From the Nominator
In 2018, UC San Diego School of Medicine turned 50 years old, an anniversary that marked an incredible history of growth and achievement in research, education and patient care. In commemoration, and as a way to celebrate both internally and externally, we launched a year-long campaign to highlight not only the relatively brief but gloried past of our medical school, but also its extraordinary present and brilliant future. All with no additional budget.
From the Judges
Most impressive was the execution of the campaign without additional budget. The judges agreed that the multi-channel outreach was effective and measured well. The anniversary communications were in celebration of a milestone without a particular “ask” or fundraising campaign, which makes the entry a great fit for this category. The judges liked how the campaign featured images and stories of the past and connected them to the future. This project successfully tapped into nostalgia to push a forward-facing message—a great accomplishment.
