Villanova University Campaign Impact Report
From the Nominator
Villanova University chose to recognize the generosity of donors at a multitude of giving levels through an impact report that focuses not just on leadership gifts from major donors, but on how the broader community of alumni, parents, friends, and students came together to truly ignite change through giving. Through this book, we look at the past and what the community has achieved through the campaign, with a focus on the current and future impact of philanthropy at Villanova. Beyond the impact of the community, a personalized thank you letter was included from assigned officers or the executive director of stewardship, as well as a custom impact report highlighting the donor’s individual giving during the fiscal year, the campaign, and over the course of their lifetime. Stories from this book were then highlighted across the University’s social media platforms and on the web, to span the broadest reach.

Villanova did a great job of recognizing the donors that made its campaign a success. The report shows both the macro and micro impact of the campaign and the donations in a compelling and interesting manner. The envelope is eye-catching and invites recipients to see what is inside. Because the team was able to repurpose much of the interesting content for social media, it increased the ROI of the work and also allowed Villanova to reach different audiences with the same information. The very quick turnaround after the conclusion of the campaign is impressive! It demonstrates the importance of having a clear plan and doing background work in advance where possible.
