The Butler Blue 2020 Calendar is a 12-month calendar featuring a photo a month of our current live English bulldog mascot, Butler Blue III, also known as “Trip.” As displayed by the chosen photos our good boy, Trip is not only strikingly handsome he is also quite busy. From holding court at Hinkle Fieldhouse to surprising prospective students with their admission decisions, this doggo does it all. Each photo is chosen from Trip’s past year of appearances or photo shoots and then placed accordingly to the best thematically matching month.
From the Judges
The judges loved this entry (even though two members of the panel were admittedly NOT dog lovers). We thought it was smart of Butler to choose one central character—Trip the bulldog and school mascot—and show him in different scenarios throughout the year. Trip provides a strong, effective tie-in to the Butler audience. We appreciated that there was a central theme, yet the marketing team showed some creativity in how they showcased Trip throughout the year. We also really liked that there was a charitable component to this calendar: Butler identified several local charities that benefited from the sale of the calendar.
