A Campus-Wide Transformation for Adelphi University: A Unifying Vision

Until very recently, Adelphi University had wildly inconsistent brand and style standards. Each school had its own colors, typography, and logos, creating a kaleidoscope of flyers and brochures that were confusing to potential students and families—and preventing Adelphi from developing a singular look, feel, or message. Adelphi’s story was being lost amongst competitors who were better able to communicate their unique benefit to students. It could not move from being a local college to a major metropolitan university—the goal identified by Adelphi’s new strategic plan. Because the disorganization was campus-wide, our solution was campus-wide: A new Style Guide and Brand Center now allows anyone within our community to create branded flyers, PowerPoints and brochures; download correct logos; view a video that demonstrates our difference; and find messaging guidelines.
From the Judges
This story is unique because it involved the participation and acceptance of every unit and every department at the University—an institution that had never undergone a design effort of this magnitude. It was extremely comprehensive, well-presented and organized. The branding page is awesome!
