The Carmen Collection: Untold Stories Through Time and Change
From the Nominator
Created by Ohio State archivists to commemorate the sesquicentennial of The Ohio State University, the Carmen Collection is a vivid, ongoing record of the people and events that have shaped one of the world's most diverse learning institutions over the past 150 years. The stories, ranging from surprising to inspiring, reflect an institution of students, faculty, and administrators advocating for a more inclusive, tolerant, and understanding future. These stories, ranging from the days of campus housing discrimination to the nation’s first Air Force ROTC African American female instructor, are housed on a digital storytelling website, and are brought to life through dynamic discussions with faculty, staff, and students.
