Community Engagement Consultation Process
From the Nominator
Beginning with an idea in late 2018, the University of Alberta embarked on an extensive consultation process to gather input from internal and external community partners. Undertaken throughout 2019, the goal of the consultation was to gather feedback from stakeholders on how the University of Alberta engages with communities within the context of its institutional strategic plan, For the Public Good, to inform the development of the university’s inaugural community engagement plan. The objective was to deliver a consultation process that encouraged opportunities for our stakeholders to have a meaningful conversation and share with the university their ideas, issues, or opportunities through an inclusive voice. What we heard from the community will serve as foundational themes for the university’s community engagement plan and guide how the University of Alberta delivers on the engagement goals of "For the Public Good" over the coming years.
