Essential CU: The Campaign for the University of Colorado

The University of Colorado is indispensable to making the state of Colorado economically powerful, physically healthy, culturally rich and socially cohesive for generations to come. Our donors are vital to this outcome. With this in mind, Essential CU was launched in January 2019 as the University of Colorado’s systemwide philanthropic campaign. Essential CU supports academic, research, and public service priorities across the CU system and its four campuses by advancing these six essential ideas: expanding student opportunities; seeking new discoveries; attracting the brightest talent; transforming health care; creating places for big ideas; and committing to the common good.
From the Judges
The University of Colorado did an exceptional job on the nomination submission and the project itself. The goals and objectives were clear and concise. The methodology was insightful due to CU's use of focus groups across campus, which led it to determine the multi-channel strategy based on the defined group and their preferred method of communication. The visual identity was integrated across the entire campaign, which provided a unified look and feel.
