    From the Nominator

In 2019, the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne celebrated 150 years of educating built environment professionals, and 100 years of the establishment of The University of Melbourne Atelier. The faculty embraced the year-long opportunity to celebrate the talent of our students and staff, and the contribution they are making and will make locally and globally. The BE-150 celebration was also a fantastic opportunity to accelerate our work as a partner in the future of Melbourne, a thriving and sustainable global city. Through the BE-150 celebration we reaffirmed commitment to the future of built environment forms, disciplines, and professions. The BE-150 program provided a myriad of opportunities for meaningful interactions, discourse, and new connections within our community, and celebrate the impact our community has made.

    From the Judges

An outstanding submission that scores very highly in all areas. For the range and quality of events, the budget was extremely reasonable. The excellent planning and execution is evident, particularly from the commemoration brochure that lists all the events. The target audience was very clearly defined, and, even more important, engaged with the commemoration activities. The series of events pulled in a very diverse group of shareholders, which stood out. Excellent branding and media coverage, as well as involvement from senior faculty leaders. Lastly, the events that were chose, such as the Baking Competition, were highly innovative and creative. This commemoration celebration not only focused on the past, but re-imagined the future.
