“Finals” is a student-produced video that illustrates the hard work and dedication of the Temple University student body during one of the most stressful weeks of an academic semester. Produced by senior advertising major Colin Giering, and filmed over the course of one week, this creative project captured the realness of what students experience during this time in college—and that the feeling of a job well done in the end is worth it all—through a clean and simple black-and-white composition of shots.

“Finals” creates a strong emotional connection. The viewer can relate to the feeling conveyed by the students and is immediately taken back to their own experiences studying for finals. Overall, the committee was incredibly impressed by the imagery and student-created musical score. The video shows a diversity of finals week habits, variety of campus scenes, and the creative and engaging execution brings the narrative together.
