The MIT Research Slam is a pitch competition for MIT alumni in research roles around the world, intended to amplify and celebrate their work during a time of declining research funding in STEM disciplines. In the past three fiscal years, it has shown great improvement and great promise as a central component of our alumni relations strategy.
From the Judges
This entry shows how working together with "competitors" can benefit all those involved. Although MIT is a large and well-supported school, they created a program that engaged alumni in a relatively low-cost and high-return manner. This entry has shown how giving back to alumni,directly or indirectly, shows exponential returns
