Pegasus is the official UCF magazine. Our goal is to create visuals that help inform, interpret, and tell the stories in partnership with the words on the page. By crafting visually compelling layouts, we stop readers from merely browsing and trigger them to a deeper dive into the content. We employ photography, illustration, and infographics as important storytelling tools, not merely as decoration. Our covers are planned to inspire emotional reactions and instill in readers a large dose pride that convinces them to display each issue on the coffee tables, office waiting rooms and other places where they showcase their identities to the world.
From the Judges
In a very strong field, the judges felt the contoured landscape cover of Pegasus Summer 2019 was exceptionally creative and inviting, and that the whole publication demonstrated successful commitment to their goal of using visuals to trigger deeper engagement. The website video stories and reach figures provided evidence of engagement. The features were striking: the dizzying range of photography in "Easy Rider" matched the adventurous subject; the playful illustrations and styling of "Insider’s Travel Guide" conveyed inclusiveness and informality while providing tips about visiting the home countries of international students.
