The University Libraries at the University of North Carolina at Chapel at Chapel Hill, publishes Windows twice each year, mailing each issue to Friends of the Library (donors), plus campus constituents and other stakeholders. The arrival of a new university librarian in 2017 provided the impetus for re-envisioning the magazine. Windows strives to build understanding of, inspire enthusiasm for and motivate giving to the libraries by demonstrating how the University Libraries provides an advantage for the university; how the University Libraries and its personnel are setting the standard for research libraries; and how private giving advances library reach and impact.
