Now in its sixth year, the Young Alumni Magnet Program is our way of stewarding our young alumni donors. Each year we produce a new magnet of an iconic campus location. When a young alumni makes a gift, we mail them the magnet along with a short note thanking them and sharing how each year we'll send young alumni donors another magnet of an iconic location on campus so that they can build Swarthmore's campus on their refrigerators.
From the Judges
The judging panel felt this nomination stood out for several key reasons. First, this program is in its sixth year and continues to grow in excitement. Alumni are enticed to collect the full set of magnets which demonstrates proven value. Second, the cost is reasonable and this is a program other institutions could replicate. One judge noted that she wished her alma mater would establish a similar program. Third, the artwork on the magnets is campus specific and stylized which makes them highly desirable.
