From Zero to Hero: The Journey of RSM MentorMe
From the Nominator
RSM MentorMe has become one of the most successful mentoring programs in the Netherlands, and a case study for universities internationally. In 2017, RSM MentorMe was a forgotten online platform. In its history up until then, only 530 people had visited the website. MentorMe became a mission where everyone felt part of the process. Alumni and mentees provided feedback, the platform provider helped us implement design and usage changes, and academic managers made mentoring part of their programs. In two years, MentorMe transformed into a pillar of our engagement, with more than 5,000 members around the world logging over a thousand mentoring sessions per year. Mentors have become engaged and provide recruitment opportunities, guest speakers and facilitate corporate relations, making them some of our most valuable alumni volunteers. This is a great example of how involving the community can yield powerful results with very low cost, while increasing their pride in being a force for positive change.
From the Judges
Erasmus University identified a real problem and has appeared to solve it with thorough research and clear goals with action items. They appear to have exceeded all of their goals and created meaningful engagements between students and alumni. Their promotional materials and training materials are well thought-out and engaging. Alumni and students are satisfied with the program. Recognizing user engagements through live events and regular communication was a good addition.
