Ag One Community Salute: Parnagian Family
From the Nominator
Advancing agriculture at California State University, Fresno with a biennial recognition of an individual or family who has transformed agriculture in California’s Central Valley and beyond.
In 2019, the Ag One Foundation celebrated 40 years of benefiting, supporting, and advancing agriculture at Fresno State. The biennial Ag One Community Salute dinner recognizes an individual or family who has helped to transform agriculture. On Nov. 22, 2019 we honored and celebrated the iconic Parnagian Family. Not only are they stewards of the land they farm, they are champions of our community.
While the Ag One founders initially set out to raise $1M in endowed funds to support deserving students and programs in the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, little did they realize they would do just that in one night.
From the Judges
This was a very thoughtful way to honor an influential and important family. What made this entry stand out from other, similar entries was the surprise video tribute, which we thought was a very personal and touching element. We also enjoyed the theming as a way to honor the family, and the inclusion of students throughout the event. A celebration unashamedly about agriculture, authentic to the history of the college and its area of expertise. Clearly an event with extensive planning and excellent attention to detail.
