Black Lives Matter Campus Engagement Campaign
From the Nominator
The Black Lives Matter Campus Engagement Campaign was an initiative to share the significance of Black lives, and the subsequent movement behind the campus-wide recognition of this social topic. Through this campaign, we created awareness and gave a voice to the issues facing those who are marginalized and those who suffer from systemic racism. What made the campaign unique was the utilization of real students and faculty who represented the entire campus community. This visually compelling campaign was shared throughout campus in highly visible areas, including the Student Union, the Intercultural and Diversity Center, campus libraries, and residential halls.
From the Judges
This poster campaign was thought-proving and engaging, encouraging conversations among all who saw. It was done on a shoestring budget, and could be replicated elsewhere. We appreciated that those featured spoke for themselves, not as a collective university response. It was authentic and powerful.
