The theme was looking at the pandemic's effect on the school's faculty, students, and staff—as well as taking a broader look at the crisis in historical terms.

This cover is so simple, and it is a choice that could have been obvious and felt that way, but this was perfectly done. We loved it as an example of how to take a simple image and make it bold and just right. It feels urgent and frightening, but somehow also calm. The treatment of the masthead and the aim of the thermometer directly to the issue name is restrained and elegant. Wonderfully balanced cover that quietly commands attention.
