Hispanic Heritage Month
From the Nominator
Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month 2020, UTSA featured a large slate of distinctive programs involving community leaders, faculty, staff, and students around multiple aspects of Latino culture. The theme—Voces de Resistencia / Visions of Resilience—was selected to showcase stories of strength and perseverance, inspiring participants to face adversity and build resiliency, as many Latino immigrants did when leaving their home countries to pursue the American dream. The month-long celebration was entirely virtual, including keynote presentations from Hispanic leaders and luminaries, as well as book clubs, symposia, and panel discussions.
From the Judges
We appreciated the excellent and thoughtful work. The calendar and the value of the content that was offered during this month-long, comprehensive event campaign to celebrate Hispanic Month was beautifully reinforced through the brand identity. It was comprehensive, audience-focused, engagement with strong engagement. We appreciated, too, the good documentation of outcomes.
