Imagine: University Libraries at Virginia Tech Magazine
From the Nominator
Imagine: University Libraries at Virginia Tech Magazine is a bi-annual magazine for the University Libraries. The overarching goal of the magazine is to illuminate the evolution of the University Libraries at Virginia Tech from a keeper and curator of knowledge to an engaged partner in research, publishing, and other academic and scholarly activities. We have the ingredients for solid research: from access to traditional journals and e-books to expertise in emerging technology like virtual and augmented reality, expertise in data analysis and curation, 3D printing and scanning, and data visualization services. The library also has the technology-rich spaces to collaborate, create, and innovate. The University Libraries at Virginia Tech has become a leader in providing nontraditional services in the library space.
Through this magazine, we invite Virginia Tech faculty, staff, alumni, students, friends, and community members to imagine and create in our reimagined library. We encourage them to support and join us on our journey to meet the needs of our Hokie nation through our 21st Century library expertise, resources, and spaces. This piece serves as an informational and promotional piece to tell the story of our transformation so that other libraries can learn from us, and become integral partners in their university’s academic, research, and innovation enterprises.
