Not If, When Campaign
From the Nominator
In October 2017, The University of Queensland publicly launched its first comprehensive Not If When, Campaign to Create Change with the two clear clear objectives: one, facilitating meaningful engagement with the UQ community, and two, to partner with donors to accelerate UQ causes, with a goal of raising $500m by the end of 2020. The campaign exceed all expectations, closing with $607m in donations (120% of target) from more than 16,600 donors, and a more connected and engaged alumni community than ever before—with 1 in 3 alumni engaging with UQ over the course of the campaign. In total 34,009 gifts were secured from more than 60 countries—ranging from $5 to 8-figure donations. $385 million was pledged to support research, $132m to teaching and learning, and $90m to empowering student success. The campaign was the first of its kind in Queensland, and only the third comprehensive campaign for a G08.
