2021 President's Report
From the Nominator
"Tarleton’s annual president’s report is a succinct year in review and quick look at the institution’s overall financial standing. With the theme "Growing in a Pandemic," the 2020 report captures our head-on approach to creating new instructional paradigms in response to the pandemic and reimagining health and safety protocols for a full return to campus in fall 2020.
While universities nationwide experienced sharp declines in 2020, Tarleton continued making records. Tarleton set new enrollment highs, added degree programs, moved to NCAA Division I, renovated and constructed facilities, enjoyed philanthropic success, and started work on a strategic 10-year plan.
To ensure that the look and feel of the report truly demonstrated the resolve of employees and students, while emphasizing growth, publication design took on a new format (growing from a small, horizontal publication to a larger and more attractive 9x11 magazine-style). Each section truly tells a story while capturing the year’s highlights.
Almost a year later, Tarleton still receives accolades on "Growing in a Pandemic" from university administrators across the country, legislators, and donors. People tell us the writing is punchy, persuasive, and the complete story his ard not to finish.
Published in April 2021, "Growing in a Pandemic" has played a key role in helping Tarleton surge ahead of meeting its largest-ever comprehensive capital fundraising campaign—$100 million. The public phase was announced in spring 2020 and sat at $66 million when the president’s report hit. By early fall, the campaign surpassed $80 million, with contributions doubling the annual giving average."
