BC Law Magazine
From the Nominator
"BC Law Magazine is published twice a year and circulates to 19,000 readers. The remarkable people who choose Boston College Law School do so because they are passionate about doing good in the world. No surprise, then, that the backgrounds they come from and the causes and careers they pursue make for compelling—often epic—stories of what it takes to do the right thing.
This entry includes two standout issues that highlight our community’s academic excellence, the magazine’s lively depiction of the dynamic world of law, and its engagement in legal current affairs. In the summer 2020 issue, we asked all 38 full-time faculty to discuss where COVID-19 might lead us. Their response was an overwhelming 30,000 words, which the magazine’s solo editor wrestled into a 16-page vision project. Another feature, from our Great Cases series, records how an alum achieved a $1 billion win for artists in a landmark music copyright trial.
The winter 2021 edition offers a glimpse into a classroom where a novel public service project is taking shape: Students are learning business law while training the formerly incarcerated in the art of entrepreneurship."
