Boston College Magazine: Summer 2021 and Fall 2021 issues
From the Nominator
"Boston College Magazine is the award-winning magazine of Boston College. We tell the stories of BC faculty, alumni, and students who are working to make the world a better place. The print edition of Boston College Magazine is published three times a year and is delivered to nearly 200,000 homes. We also engage our audience through digital storytelling, including online exclusives, photos and videos, a podcast, an email newsletter, and social media.
The Summer 2021 issue includes a cover story celebrating 50 years of coeducation at Boston College; a fun package exploring all the fictional "alumni" who are central characters in an array of movies and TV shows; and a business story about how three BC students founded the liquor-delivery app Drizly—and sold it for $1.1 billion.
The Fall 2021 issue includes an incredible profile of Joe Dobbratz '51, a decorated fighter pilot who has a glacier in Antarctica named after him; a piece on how Head Coach Jeff Hafley plans to get BC Football soaring again (that was accompanied online by a viral video); a Q&A with distinguished alum Steve Pemberton on his new book, The Lighthouse Effect; and a story about how Deirdre Connolly '97—the head producer of the hit Bravo show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen—is remaking late-night television.
These two issues also represent the exciting evolution of the front-of-book Linden Lane section, as we continuously elevate and refine the storytelling and design—our new fonts, wider rules, and rubrics are all represented here."

Really clean and love the type choices. Infographic utilization and implementation is excellent. "Fictional Eagles" story was really unique and fantastically illustrated. Clever editorial choices and A+ covers.
