“Cougar Town” is a first-person feature story about the native cougar population of Los Angeles County. McDonnell describes the dangers posed to cougars due to human encroachment on their native habitat and efforts to expand their range, while also conveying her own lifelong fascination with and concern for L.A.’s “big cats.”
