Marking the Milestone

"Following the conclusion of the MIT Campaign for a Better World on June 30, 2021, MIT publicly marked the close with a thank-you message for donors and the broader MIT community who helped exceed the goal. On September 30, 2021, this integrated communication was delivered via email and social media pointing people to a custom, interactive storytelling microsite.
The microsite was conceptualized, designed, and developed almost entirely in-house. It conveyed the message of thanks and impact of the Better World campaign. Some of the microsite features include:
- Recorded video message from President Reif, as well as video messages from each dean and member of MIT’s senior leadership team.
- Key data points from the campaign presented as infographics.
- Individual stories highlighting the campaign’s problem-solving and core priorities: Discovery Science; Health of the Planet; Human Health; Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Teaching, Learning, and Living; and undergraduate and graduate financial aid and professorships.
- Timeline of campaign milestones.
- Interactive map of campus building projects."
From the Judges
Creative and engaging website that provide a good balance between corporate messaging and impact. Videos are excellent, anchoring the narrative in impact and speaking directly to the donors to do that. Objectives and methodology are clear and concise.
