Northwest College's Inaugural Giving Day Campaign

"The Northwest College Foundation conducted its inaugural NWC Giving Day on March 25, 2021. A two-year college with less than 1,500 students, we surpassed expectations by raising $107,435 and nearly doubled our goal of 250 gifts in 24 hours with contributions from 464 donors. Our five major areas of giving included Scholarships ($54,650), Athletic Scholarships ($19,630), Student Center ($14,040), Career and Technical Education ($9,970), and Instructional Technology/Other Support ($9,145).
For every 50 donors, a $5,000 bonus was unlocked and added to the total Giving Day donations. Not only was the original goal of 250 donors nearly doubled, but all five $5,000 bonuses were unlocked early in the evening. To encourage continued momentum, we surprised donors with an additional opportunity to double their gifts from 7 to 9 p.m. using a special matching gift.
The event generated positive energy from alumni and community members who wanted to show they care about NWC. People were able to watch the campaign's progress in real time online and read the many heartfelt messages shared on our giving platform, Givebutter. Giving Day was a collaborative effort between the NWC Foundation & Alumni and many departments across campus. Various academic and program areas participated by rallying their respective alumni and supporters, and competed for prize money with our social media departmental challenges."

This was a very well thought out and planned giving day that provides a strong foundation to build on. The design of the website and marketing were also strong.
