"We decided to combine the skills of what our students are learning with the environment that they take place in, creating a beautiful image that celebrates the student and inspires others to achieve greatness. In a collaboration with the college of humanities and fine arts music and theatre department, we coordinated with a dancer to capture an elegant pose in an iconic location of campus.
Professional lighting was used to highlight and elevate the significance of the dancer. Use of professional lighting gave a refined look to a crafted art form. The lights allowed the dancer to be prominent and separate from the background. This offered an eye-catching visual that let the viewer appreciate how dancers had to find new places to learn throughout impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This dancer, like others, was not allowed into the dance studios they typically used for learning environments. This image celebrates their new world and inspires the notion that dance can be done anywhere."
