From the Nominator

"This festive and family-oriented video was circulated to RCSI’s alumni community in December 2021. Our goal was to bring a smile to their faces and inspire fond memories of the excitement of the holiday season in Dublin. The community spans 94 countries and alumni fondly remember RCSI and Dublin as their ‘home away from home.' 

The project team brainstormed to produce a brief that would evoke feelings of nostalgia for RCSI. Mindful of the challenging experiences that our alumni, as healthcare professionals, have had over the past two years, the team wanted the video to be uplifting, recreate memories of their time in RCSI, and share the magic of the holiday spirit.  

A storyboard ‘for alumni, about alumni’ was created. Plans were made to record scenes in specific locations in Dublin and RCSI that are known as favourite haunts amongst alumni. Prior to filming, the project team issued a ‘casting call’ on social media to recruit alumni to feature as the stars of the video. The team also connected with RCSI Drama Society to recruit students to assist with the filming.  

The video was recorded in early December before being circulated as part of a personalised holiday e-greeting to over 15,700 alumni, as well as donors, staff, and other stakeholders. The average open and click rates of the e-greeting were 65% and 39% respectively. The video garnered over 1,500 views on RCSI’s Alumni YouTube video and had a post reach of 3,515 on Instagram and 2,200 on Facebook."

Simple, yet engaging. Excellent videography. Nice music selection. Also, nice how they engaged alumni and were intentional about where they filmed them.
