Year in Review – 2021
From the Nominator
"UC Davis School of Medicine created its inaugural year-in-review publication to memorialize one of the most extraordinary years in the school’s nearly 55-year history. The objectives were to raise awareness of the medical school’s groundbreaking research, leadership in advancing diversity in medicine, and to elevate the school’s national reputation. The school also sought to share its nationally recognized model to advance diversity in medicine and reduce health disparities.
The in-house team collaborated with medical school leaders and produced a 16-page year-in-review document over a three-month period. The publication featured a visually compelling timeline demonstrating the school’s national leadership in the fight against COVID-19 and articles on pioneering efforts to reduce health disparities, innovative pathway programs to advance diversity, research, and innovation. Target audiences included leaders at medical schools nationwide, alumni, donors, prospective recruits, and the full spectrum of internal audiences.
As a result, the publication effectively raised the school’s national recognition among leaders at medical schools across the country, alumni, donors, prospective recruits, and a wide range of internal audiences."
